When Persa first got an invitation to join our Supervised Coaching sessions meetings was reluctant and nervous, insisting on describing her the whole procedure. “Why is it important to join in since I am an active and successful coach?”, she asked me when I’ve sent her the credentials to log in. I had no choice but to reassure her that most members of our coaching team join our community in order to share concerns referring to coaching techniques for the sessions with their clients while dealing with some self-development issues as well. She missed two of our scheduled meetings but she texted me anxiously when she found out that her questions weren’t powerful enough to meet her client’s needs.
What does a supervised coaching session meeting do exactly and why is it so important to attend it? I can describe it as an empowering gathering! It’s a great for the mentor coach and coaches to follow up with the progress for each coach individually. During the live meeting, the mentor coach directs conversation to ensure that all coaching principles are thoroughly understood and applied by the coaches during their sessions with clients. Appointing an accountability partner for each coach builds up strong interpersonal relationships between the coaches and lends a helping hand when the coach himself is in distress and needs professional encouragement by a person who really cares for his well-being.
Supervised Coaching sessions with a mentor coach and other coaches is a tool that every professional coaching community can benefit from. It’s not optional. It’s the safe place to seek encouragement and professional advice when you encounter problems with clients while processing their life plan. In the meantime, it’s a safe environment to test new techniques and get valued opinions for them.
The structure followed in each of our Supervised Coaching sessions ensures that everybody has enough time to speak and share his/her latest wins. Then each coach is doing a coaching session of 10 minutes. And what amazing value the client gets in 10 minutes!
After that the Mentor Coach, gives constructive feedback to the coach. The goal is just like in coaching, with powerful questions to see what worked in the session and what can be improved. What a powerful moment!

Besides getting the chance to better understand the process of coaching, we get the feeling of an embracing family.
