Our communication skills are directly linked with only one thing—active and meticulous listening. The most outstanding leaders are primarily people who listen thoroughly before they talk, and actually, they do not speak that much. This is why life coaching is so effective! It is based on listening!
For a life coach to engage in coaching, it takes a lot of active listening. The more you listen to your client, the more proficient you are in mastering your coaching skills. It’s not an easy task, no doubt. After all, we are humans, and it’s inevitable to shape our own opinion based on thoughts and experiences people share with us.
Everybody is entitled to his opinion, but the real virtue of effective life coaching is to listen and not to talk back. We are coaches who do not provide advice; that’s why it’s not essential to share our perspective.
